Scoped Implementation & Advisory

small fixes. clear boundaries.

After a review, some fixes are small enough to do without turning the business upside down: clean DNS records, adjust licenses, document restores, improve vendor reporting, pilot an alternative tool, or prepare a migration brief.

Kastro can take on those scoped implementation tasks when the boundaries are clear. Larger migrations, managed operations, help desk coverage, SOC monitoring, and emergency incident response are not promised as day-one solo services. They are planned carefully and, when appropriate, scoped with specialist providers.

The operating model is simple: one accountable advisor, honest capacity, clear deliverables, and no fake enterprise facade.

CAPABILITIES

what we deliver.

Small Scoped Fixes

Bounded technical work such as DNS cleanup, email authentication hardening, license cleanup support, documentation, and configuration sanity checks.

Migration Readiness Planning

Assess whether a platform change is worth doing, what the rollback path looks like, and what should be piloted before any broad migration.

Testing and Rollback Design

Define acceptance checks, restore points, communication steps, and rollback criteria before touching business-critical systems.

Vendor Selection Support

Compare incumbent, open-source, European, and specialist-provider options against cost, risk, ownership, and exit paths instead of ideology alone.

Open-Source Pilot Planning

Design small pilots for alternatives to files, documents, chat, automation, monitoring, or reporting where there is a real business case.

Limited Advisory Retainer

A small monthly block of independent IT/security advisory time. No emergency SLA, no pretend help desk, no 24/7 coverage.

Specialist Coordination

For SOC, incident response, large migrations, hosting, or specialist security work, Kastro can help define scope and coordinate the right provider.

IT Budgeting & TCO Analysis

Turn review findings into a pragmatic budget view: expected savings, one-off project costs, renewal risks, and decisions to defer.

USE CASES

real-world scenarios.

DNS and Domain Hardening Sprint

The Problem

A small company has several domains, old DNS records, unclear mail senders, and no documented owner for changes.

Kastro's Approach

Kastro scopes a short cleanup sprint: inventory records, identify risky entries, prepare SPF/DKIM/DMARC changes, and document ownership.

Alternative Workspace Pilot

The Problem

A team wants to reduce Microsoft dependency but cannot risk a disruptive migration.

Kastro's Approach

Kastro designs a pilot for one workflow, defines success criteria, maps coexistence concerns, and decides whether a wider migration is worth planning.

Independent Advisor Retainer

The Problem

A founder or managing director wants a technical second opinion before renewals, MSP meetings, or small infrastructure decisions.

Kastro's Approach

Kastro provides a limited monthly advisory block for review calls, vendor questions, decision memos, and prioritization without pretending to be a full IT department.
